NC Health News continues to bring you short video interviews with a variety of health care experts around the state reflecting on health reform, the future of NC’s health care system and the challenges it faces.
Today, videographer Bill Erwin brings us thoughts from Dr. Laura Gerald, state health director on some of the challenges facing the North Carolina as lawmakers move forward with the legislative and budgeting process. Gerald, a pediatrician and a native of Lumberton, has been the state health director since January, 2012. Before that, she was executive director of the Health and Wellness Trust Fund and chaired the N.C. Eugenics Task Force.
