In the coming months, NC Health News will be bringing you a series of short video interviews with a variety of health care experts around the state reflecting on health reform and the future of NC’s health care system.
Today videographer Bill Erwin brings us thoughts from Dr. Bill Roper, head of UNC Healthcare on how health reform will affect hospitals, and the pros and cons of the expansion of Medicaid that’s optional under President Obama’s Affordable Care Act.
Roper has served in the past as the head of Medicare and Medicaid, as the leader of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and worked as a White House staff health adviser to President George H.W. Bush.
