Your Giving Options

In addition to cash donations via check, donor-advised fund, or online, NC Health News accepts required minimum distributions from retirement accounts and donations of stock. Please email or call for instructions on transferring stock.

Donor Transparency

We are committed to transparency in every aspect of funding our organization.

Accepting financial support does not mean we endorse donors or their products, services or opinions.

We accept gifts, grants and sponsorships from individuals, organizations and foundations to cover general operations, coverage of specific topics and special projects. However, news judgments are made independently – not based on or influenced by donors. We do not give supporters the rights to assign, review or edit content.

We make public all donors. As a nonprofit, we avoid accepting donations from anonymous sources, and cap those donations at $100. We will not accept donations from government entities or political parties and will limit donations from elected officials or candidates actively seeking public office to $500. We will not accept donations from sources who, deemed by our editor and/or board of directors, present a conflict of interest with our work or compromise our independence.
