To give readers information, we combed the internet and social media for statements by Bailey and material from his official website that could address the themes in our questions. Unfortunately, we were not able to find material to answer every question.

What would be your plan for ensuring the future security/ strength of Medicare?

Knott’s campaign did not respond to any questions. However, the Libertarian Party’s position on healthcare may provide insight on Bailey’s position on Medicare.  

The Libertarian Party favors a free market healthcare system without government oversight, supporting the repeal of social insurance policies like Medicare and Medicaid. What would you support in Congress as a plan to help control health care/ pharmaceutical costs?

Bailey offered the following statement, during his 2018 Congressional campaign, in a Winston-Salem Journal article.

“I believe in building hospitals and hiring doctors. The money that we currently spend could be more efficiently used to provide actual services rather than a vast bureaucracy.”
