Methane facility_OptimaKV

shows an array of stainless steel tanks and pipes with valves and spigots

This array of tanks is a small plant that converts methane into natural gas, before it is injected into a pipeline that serves the East Coast. The methane is gathered from hog lagoons covered to digest hog waste and capture the methane produced by the waste. Optima KV sells the natural gas to Duke Energy. Photo credit: Greg Barnes
