CAPR (controlled air purifying respirator) helmets used by ICU staff. Some staff prefer to use the devices, which include an air filter worn at the waist that blows filtered air around the head and face, negating the use of a mask and goggles. The downside of the CAPRs is that they can be heavy on the head, causing head and neck fatigue along with the fact the devices are noisy and make it harder to hear patients and colleagues speaking.
